Scouting Reports- TE Kyle Adams Purdue Has good size and looks the part. Is a solid blocker. Gives good effort blocking, gets good position and battles. Isn't dominant in that area and at times will struggle to maintain block but is fairly solid. Has decent quickness and speed. Isn't going to stretch the middle of the field but is a factor on short to intermediate routes. Has good hands and at times would be the team's go to receiver. Generally catches the ball with his hands. Does a good job using his large frame to shield defender from the ball. Doesn't have a whole lot of upside because he is a little limited athletically, lacking speed and a little flexibility. Had a knee injury that caused him to miss 2008 that will need to be checked out but it hasn't looked like it has been an issue. Solid TE who could be a solid backup on the next level and would make a lot of sense in the late rounds or as a priority free agent. Jeffrey Anderson UAB Lacks height but has long arms and good bulk. He has really good hands and will make some difficult catches. Will go after the ball like a WR and could be a good redzone threat. Plays faster than he times, showing decent speed for his size. Might not be able to stretch the middle of the field but has the speed and quickness to create separation. Due to his bulk and speed he is hard to bring down in the open field. He does a solid job blocking. His lack of height, combined with his long arms and bulk give him natural leverage and makes him hard to move. At times he is able to not only get good position but is able to drive the defender down the field. Started the past season a little slow but finished strong. Had over half of his catches in the final three games. UAB had a new starting QB this past season and it might have taken some time to get used to each other. Comes into the draft a little underrated. Might not get drafted but could surprise once he gets into a camp. Daniel Ard Murray St Tall receiver who lacks bulk. Lines up in the slot and completely dominated his level of competition. Is kind of a tweener, lacking the speed and quickness to play WR in the NFL and lacking the size to play TE. Most likely will get looked at as a move HB. He has good speed for HB and has really good hands. Blocking is going to be a problem and he will be making a big jump in competition. Complicating things further, he missed most of this past year with a broken collarbone. If his collarbone checks out, he may get a chance due to his receiving skills. David Ausberry USC Highly touted recruit who never lived up to the high expectations coming out of high school. He is a big WR with good height and a lot of bulk for a WR. As a WR he really lacked quickness in and out of his breaks and struggled to get separation. By the end of his career he was relegated to just going out and catching jump balls. They toyed with moving him to TE but he reportedly resisted the move. TE is where he needs to be. He would be a little undersized but would have good speed and would be a better matchup in the passing game. He is a physical player who could develop into a decent positional blocker. However, for that to happen he would have to embrace a move to TE. Suffered a stress fracture in his leg in 2009 that might need to be looked at. Developmental type if he is willing. Ed Barham North Carolina Third stringer who filled in and contributed when Zach Pianalto went down with injury. Has good length and bulk. Has long arms. Lacks speed and is pretty stiff. Really slow in and out of his break and struggles to create separation. Mostly just a find the holes in the zone type guy. Catches ball ok. Inconsistent as a blocker. Has good bulk, long arms and strong hands. At times he does a good job controlling the defender once he gets his hands on them due to his strength. Other times he struggles to maintain block because he is typically pretty high and he doesn't do a good job moving his feet while blocking. Has the frame and potential to develop into a blocking TE but might not get a chance. Brett Brackett Penn St WR who has good height and decent bulk. As a WR he lacks great speed. He has decent quickness in and out of his breaks and does a good job catching the ball. He shows good toughness over the middle and is a really good blocker at the WR position. He could be a good redzone threat due to his length. He could still get a look at WR but I feel he could be a better TE. He would have great speed inside and would be able to stretch the middle. He already shows good toughness over the middle and does a good job shielding defenders with his body. He can add more bulk to his frame and his physicality would translate to his blocking. It will take some time to develop and get totally comfortable working out of a three point stance but he has had a little bit of experience with that. Also in his favor is that he is a high character player. Good developmental prospect who could eventually develop into a good, contributing TE. Would make a lot of sense late in the draft. Sean Bunevich Duquesne Has a good frame and good bulk. Doesn't have a lot of speed but has good hands. Missed 2009 with a knee injury and might actually get faster the further he gets from his surgery. Is making a big jump in competition. Developmental type who may get a look. Jordan Cameron USC Former basketball player at BYU and USC. Is really athletic. Good height with average bulk. Could add more bulk to his frame. Has quick feet and good speed. Can stretch the middle of the field. Natural pass catcher who has soft hands and good hand eye coordination. Has good flexibility and can go up and make the difficult catch. Has good leaping ability and can be a weapon in the passing game but is a little raw. Doesn't always run good routes and lacks awareness. Will run route and stop, failing to adjust and help the QB out. Has good change of direction and can get some yards after catch. Has gotten bigger but could use a little more bulk for blocking. Gives good effort but is a little undersized and doesn't have good technique. Tends to be too high. Doesn't have a ton of experience, before this season he spent most of his time at WR and they liked to split him out in the slot a lot. Has tremendous potential to be a top notch TE in the NFL but is raw and will need some time to develop. Would make a lot of sense in the middle rounds. Brady Camp Oregon St Strictly a blocking TE. Has really good size and is generally a solid blocker. Struggled through a back injury this past season which affected his play some. Really lacks speed and doesn't move well. This past season he really struggled catching the ball. He really doesn't offer anything in the passing game. Could possibly put on more weight and move to T but might not get a chance. Vaughn Charlton Temple Former QB who moved to TE this past season. Has a good frame and has some athletic ability. Rotated at TE and didn't develop as much as expected. Doesn't have great speed and still needs a lot of development as a blocker. Flashed glimpses of being able to block but overall he consistently struggled. Has good hands but doesn't get open consistently. Puts his good hands to work as a holder on kicks. Developmental type who lacks any special ability to get a chance. Corday Clark McNeese St Has marginal height and bulk. Has long arms. Has some athleticism and is a good target in the passing game. Lacks great speed to stretch the middle of the field but has the ability to work the short to intermediate areas. Catches the ball well. Is a decent blocker. Does a good job sticking to blocks and is able to turn defenders. Is a little under the radar but could get a shot and surprise. Will be making a jump in competition but showed he could play against better competition when he performed well against LSU this past season. Ben Cleveland Arkansas Backup to D.J. Williams. Has good size and moves pretty well. Is a fluid athlete. Doesn't have the speed to stretch the middle of the field but can get some separation underneath. Wasn't really used much in the passing game with Williams getting most of the attention. Inconsistent blocker. At times does a good job and at other times he is just poor. Gives good effort though. Missed 2007 with a pinched nerve. Brad Clifford Utah Older TE who never really developed into the player they thought. Never was able to win the starting position. Has decent size but really lacks speed. Has been injury prone with hip flexor and shoulder issues. Only has 7 catches over his entire career. Doesn't seem like much of a pro prospect. Colin Cochart South Dakota St Has a good frame. Has decent speed but is a long strider. Has some athleticism but is a little stiff. Doesn't have very natural hands and ends up double catching a lot of balls. Lacks some bulk and struggles to get much movement blocking. Will be making a big jump in competition. Has some potential but might lack the ability to make it on the next level. Chris Farmer Villanova Has good size. Mostly utilized as a blocker. Often stays in to block on passing plays and only had 5 catches this past season. Lacks speed. Did not dominate lower level competition as a blocker. Not overly physical and is a more of a get in your way and tie you up type blocker. Was a decent blocker on his level but you would have liked to see him dominate since he doesn't offer a whole lot as a receiver. Collin Franklin Iowa St Has good height and long arms. Is a little skinny but has the frame to add some more bulk. Is a good target downfield. Has good athleticism and will try to catch everything. Doesn't have elite speed but has good speed. Catches the ball well and is a solid short to intermediate option. Could use a little more explosiveness off the snap which would help him get off line of scrimmage and help his blocking. Gives good effort blocking but could still use some work there. Battles to stick with defender. Showed good strength at his pro day but that hasn't translated onto the field as to date. Has potential to be a solid TE and is a little under rated at this time. Good developmental player who will likely go undrafted. Evan Frosch TCU Has good size. More of a blocker than a receiver and is solid in that category. Really lacks speed and doesn't have very good hands. Only had two catches this past season. Might not be a dominant enough blocker to overcome his lack of ability in the pass game. Tommy Gallarda Boise St Has good size. Shows good coordination and hands. Can be a real threat in the redzone. Really lacks speed and foot quickness. Can't stretch the middle of the field and struggles to get separation. Gives good effort blocking and is fairly efficient. Missed a good portion of this past season due to a broken ankle. Decent all around player who might lack special ability needed for next level. Charlie Gantt Michigan St Has good size. Reliable short to intermediate target. Lacks speed and can't stretch the middle of the field. Lacks athleticism and is a little uncoordinated. Every now and then will stumble out of breaks or will struggle to catch the ball while running at full speed. Has a good understanding of where the holes are in the zone and can be a good target in the redzone. Is a decent blocker but struggles with athletic defenders because he has such slow feet, which causes him to overextend. Will never be more than a backup but might find a spot on the right team. Richard Gordon Miami (Fla) Has good size and is really athletic. Moves well for his size and shows good change of direction. Has the athletic ability to get separation. Doesn't have elite speed but has good speed. Wasn't used much in the passing game. Doesn't have good hands at all and will have some passes bounce off his hands. Does a really good job blocking. Has good bulk and strength. Has some explosiveness and good knee bend. Is athletic enough to be effective blocking out in space. Missed 2009 with an arm injury. Has failed to develop into the elite prospect expected but still has a lot of potential. Developmental prospect who figures to be a priority free agent but might get some consideration late in the draft if a team falls in love with him. Cameron Graham Louisville Has decent but not great size. Good athlete who was the go to guy in the passing game. Catches the ball well. Has the flexibility and body control of a WR. Ran horribly at the combine and at his pro day but he plays faster than he times, not that he is going to stretch the middle of the field but he has the athletic ability to create separation and get some yards after catch. Gives good effort blocking but struggles some there. Really improved his blocking this past season but still lacks some bulk and doesn't have great technique. Missed much of 2008 due to various injuries but hasn't shown any ill effects from that. His stock has tumbled due to his poor workout numbers but he will end up being a great find for a team as an undrafted free agent. Virgil Green Nevada Really athletic player who has gotten big enough to where he has decent size. Runs really well and has good quickness. Showed really good explosion with tremendous vertical and broad jump. Athletic enough to get consideration at WR but that seems unlikely. Has elusiveness in the open field and can stretch the middle of the field. Gives good effort in blocking and will battle to maintain blocks. Lacks bulk and technique. His blocking has improved but still not where it needs to be. Has tremendous potential but at this point is more athlete than football player. Has improved in all areas but still needs work on route running, his release and his blocking. Really good developmental prospect with a high ceiling who will probably here his name called in the middle rounds. Daniel Hardy Idaho Has decent height but lacks bulk. Good receiving TE who runs well and has good athleticism. Developed into the team's go to guy. Decent feet and gets separation. Doesn't have elite speed but has really good speed. Generally catches the ball but doesn't have real natural hands. Needs to do a better job protecting the ball in traffic. Can get yards after the catch. Gives a decent effort blocking but struggles at it because he lacks bulk. Missed end of season due to a broken arm. Intriguing developmental receiving TE who will likely be an undrafted free agent but could get a look late in the draft. Mike Higgins Nebraska- Omaha Has good height and decent bulk. Runs really well. Was his team's go to guy. Is making a big jump in competition. Lacks bulk for blocking but gives decent effort. Really intriguing developmental prospect who is making a big jump in competition. Rob Housler Florida Atlantic Has good height and long arms. Really athletic and has elite speed. Can stretch the middle of the field. Has good body control and can make the difficult catch. Has good quickness and can create separation. Does a good job of finding holes in the zone. Gets up to speed quickly and can get some yards in the open field. Will drop a pass from time to time due to lack of concentration. Lacks bulk and struggles blocking but generally gives good effort. Frame can support some extra weight but will never have good bulk. Not a finished product but has tremendous talent. For a team that can look past his blocking, he can be a dangerous weapon in the passing game. Figures to get his name called in the middle rounds. Brett Huffman Duke Has decent size. Has average to below average speed. Catches the ball well but doesn't get many yards after the catch. Is a little stiff. Gives good effort blocking but isn't overly good at it. Marginal at everything and isn't likely to get an opportunity.
