Scouting Reports- CB Rod Issac Middle Tennessee St Has good size and will come up and make some physical tackles. Lacks some athleticism and closing ability. Has good speed and is decent in coverage. Talmadge Jackson III Oregon Is a little undersized. Is physical against the run. Failed to take his game to the next level this past season. Gives up way too many catches. Doesn't have tight coverage and gives too much cushion. Lacks height and struggles to make plays on the ball. Ryan Jones NW Missouri St Has good size and athletic ability. Has good speed and leaping ability. Looks the part. Doesn't always show good closing speed. Is a little raw. Has been solid on his level of competition but will be making a big jump in competition. Is a little raw and is a good developmental prospect. LeQuan Lewis Arizona St Has good size. Has good athletic ability but it doesn't always translate onto the field. Ha good speed. Is a little inconsistent in coverage but improved as the season wore on. Is a little raw. Is a decent kickoff returner. Korey Lindsay Southern Illinois Has good size and fairly good feet. Has been dominant on his level for much of his career so teams didn't test him much. Bail technique guy who at times isn't as quick in transition as you would think. Is a physical player. Is a little raw and is a good developmental prospect. Curtis Marsh Utah St Has good size and athletic ability. Has good height and long arms. Has solid speed for his size. Is a former RB who has only played CB the past two years. Is a little raw but has real good physical ability. Needs time to develop and will be making a jump in competition but he physically has everything you look for in a starter. Byron Maxwell Clemson Has good size. Is a physical player who will come up against the run. Good tackler. Has good speed for his size. Is stiff in the hips and doesn't show great man to man skills. Missed 2006 season due to a torn ACL. Solid player who could challenge for a backup role. Andrew McGee Oklahoma St Has good size. Broke his neck in 2009 and was back on the field contributing in 2010. Played a good portion of season with a cast on his arm and still played at a high level. Plays faster than he times and shows good speed. Typically has tight coverage. Shows some closing ability and he makes plays on the ball. Can come up and be physical. Is a good, but not elite and comes with some injury concerns. Loyce Means Houston Lacks bulk. Has good feet but is high in his backpedal which makes his coverage inconsistent. Is not the best tackler. Has good hands. Had a good Eastham Energy game and that will help him get a look. Sterling Moore SMU Has good size and strength. Has decent closing ability. Does a real good job and coming up and making tackles against the run. Has good speed and is competitive. Has good ability but hasn't been able to stay on the field. Missed a couple games in 2009 with a knee injury. This past season he missed five games because of a knee injury, came back and then re-injured the knee. Could be a developmental prospect but has serious durability concerns. Jonathan Nelson Florida Bounced back and forth between S and CB in his college career. Could get a look at either position but I think that CB could be his better pro position. Is a little undersized for S and at times he doesn't do a real good job of wrapping up when tackling. He is physical and will deliver a big hit from time to time. He is really good in coverage for a S and is decent at CB. Has decent but not elite speed. Will make plays on the ball. Probably more of a nickel back on the next level who could probably help on special teams. Bryant Nnabuife California Has good size and marginal speed. His play has been inconsistent. At times gives too much cushion and doesn't always have tight coverage. Will flash some closing ability. Is inconsistent against the run. Isn't afraid to be physical but struggles to get off blocks and doesn't always take the best angle. Will likely get a look as an undrafted guy but will need to be much more consistent in order to make it. Johnny Patrick Louisville Has good size and athletic ability. Shows good anticipation and closing speed. Has really good feet and is smooth in transition. Is really solid in coverage. Will come up and make some physical plays against the run and is a decent tackler. Does a decent job rushing the passer off the corner. Doesn't have an elite skill but is above average across the board. Is a little underrated and figures to be a solid player on the next level. Jose Perez San Diego St Has good height but could use a little more bulk. Competes and has decent speed. Makes plays on the ball and almost seemed to play better against tougher competition. Doesn't have the best hips but is willing to be physical. Marginal prospect who might get a chance. Patrick Peterson LSU Tremendous combination of size and speed. Big enough to be a S but athletic enough to be a CB. Has shut down corner skills. Shows good closing speed and good feet. Has enough speed to outrun any mistakes. Is strong and physical. Will come up and make plays against the run. Has good hands and coordination for the INT. Competes and has shut down top WRs. Is good rushing the passer off the corner due to his speed. Is a really good return guy who is always a threat to take it the distance due to his feet and speed. Top 3 talent who has all the skills to be an elite shutdown CB in the NFL. Tavious Polo Florida Atlantic Undersized player who lacks some long speed. Has good quickness and typically has pretty good coverage. Is an aggressive player who is a physical tackler. Lacks bulk and has skinny arms and really struggles to get off blocks. Tough and has been durable despite his lack of size. Has experience as a punt returner. Could be coveted by cover 2 teams and might be a future slot defender. Julian Posey Ohio Has decent size but could use a little more bulk. Competitive player who has decent speed. Has decent man on man skills and flashes some closing ability. Makes plays on the ball and held up well against better competition. Will come up and make plays against the run and will hit. Also has some experience as a kickoff returner. Is a little underrated. Might never be a starter but could end up being a solid extra DB who helps on special teams.
