Mock Draft

Updated (4/27)

Round 2

1 New England Patriots (from Carolina) Mikel Leshoure RB Illinois*
The Patriots desperately need a RB and get a big RB who can carry the load and get tough yards inside.
2 Buffalo Bills Christian Ponder QB Florida St
The Bills get their QB in the second round.
3 Cincinnati Bengals Andy Dalton QB TCU
There are a number of direction the Bengals could go but picking up a potential franchise QB to eventually replace Carson Palmer is too enticing to pass up.
4 Denver Broncos Corey Liuget DT Illinois*
The Broncos could go a ton of different directions.  They go with the best player on the board and solidify the DL.
5 Cleveland Browns Torrey Smith WR Maryland*
The Browns need to get Colt McCoy some weapons to throw to.
6 Arizona Cardinals Brooks Reed OLB Arizona
The Cardinals really need T help to protect whoever the QB will be, which will be a veteran because they like the potential of John Skelton and Max Hall, but there isn't a good LT prospect left so they help their pass rush with Reed which could form a nice duo with O'Brien Schofield.
7 Tennessee Titans Colin Kaepernick QB Nevada
Tennessee really needs a QB of the future and Kaepernick is really flying up the boards due to his intriguing potential.
8 Dallas Cowboys Rahim Moore FS UCLA*
The Cowboys need secondary help.  They start at FS with Rahim Moore.
9 Washington Redskins Leonard Hankerson WR Miami (Fla)
If you invest in a young QB it is always good to get him some weapons.
10 Houston Texans Justin Houston OLB Georgia*
Since the Texans went CB in round 1 they need to find pass rush help opposite Connor Barwin, so they role the dice with Houston.
11 Minnesota Vikings Stephen Paea DT Oregon St
The Vikings could really use help at S but also need help at DT and Paea is a steal.  Paea likely goes earlier than this, there are just so many DL that it seems at least one of them is going to slide.
12 Detroit Lions Martez Wilson LB Illinois*
The Lions need help at LB...all LB positions.  Wilson has versatility and can help them inside or out.
13 San Francisco 49ers Brandon Harris CB Miami (Fla)*
The 49ers need a CB and get a steal in Harris.
14 Denver Broncos (from Miami) Kyle Rudolph TE Notre Dame*
With Daniel Graham gone they need a complete TE and get the top one in the draft.
15 St. Louis Rams Marvin Austin DT North Carolina
The Rams would like to upgrade the DT position and roll the dice with Austin.
16 Oakland Raiders Stefen Wisniewski C Penn St
The Raiders really need a C and Wisniewski could be the steal of the draft here.
17 Jacksonville Jaguars Marcus Gilchrist S/CB Clemson
The Jaguars desperately need DB help and take Gilchrist who could help at S or CB.
18 San Diego Chargers Jabaal Sheard OLB Pittsburgh
The Chargers could use some help rushing the passer and are excited that Sheard is still on the board here.
19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Bruce Carter OLB North Carolina
The Bucs really need a G and are tempted by Rodney Hudson but they also need help at OLB and Carter is just too good to pass.
20 New York Giants Ben Ijalana G/T Villanova
The makeover of the OL continues with Ijalana who could play G or T.
21 Indianapolis Colts Christian Ballard DT Iowa
The Colts need help at DT and role the dice on sliding Ballard, who would be a good fit to their system.
22 Philadelphia Eagles Marcus Cannon G/T TCU
The Eagles need help on the inside of the OL and Andy Reid likes big guys, Cannon fills both.
23 Kansas City Chiefs Jonathan Baldwin WR Pittsburgh*
The Chiefs would like a big receiver to complement Dwayne Bowe and find the talented but risky Baldwin available.
24 New Orleans Saints Ryan Williams RB Virginia Tech*
The Saints get more depth at the RB position.
25 Seattle Seahawks Rodney Hudson G/C Florida St
The Seahawks need help on the OL.  Hudson fits the system and could play G or maybe even C.
26 Baltimore Ravens Randall Cobb WR Kentucky*
The Ravens could use more weapons down the field and get someone who can stretch the field in Cobb.  He can also help on special teams.
27 Atlanta Falcons Titus Young WR Boise St
The Falcons need to continue to get Matt Ryan some weapons and Titus Young would be a good complement for Roddy White.
28 New England Patriots Allen Bailey DE Miami (Fla)
The Patriots need help at DE and Bailey should fit the system nicely.
29 San Diego Chargers (from NY Jets) Edmund Gates WR Abilene Christian
The Chargers need more WRs and Gates is flying up the draft boards.
30 Chicago Bears Drake Nevis DT LSU
The Bears take the top DT for their system.
31 Pittsburgh Steelers James Carpenter G/T Alabama
The Steelers would like some help at G and could use some help at T.  Carpenter might give them some flexibility.
32 Green Bay Packers Jerrel Jernigan WR Troy
The Packers will need more WR depth, Jernigan gives them that plus he can help the return game.
